Bristol Rovers predicted team vs Charlton: Changes expected amid swift turnaround from Wigan
Bristol Rovers have the opportunity to shake off their 2-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic swiftly this evening, although it certainly won't be easy as they visit an in-form Charlton Athletic side.
The Addicks have won five of their last seven in League One and have the play-off positions in sight with just two points separating them in 10th and Barnsley in sixth.
Nathan Jones' side did actually do Rovers and their relegation rivals a favour on Saturday by beating Shrewsbury Town with a 96th minute winner on a weekend that saw the Gas' advantage over the bottom four remain at seven points.

Inigo Calderon's side were underwhelming at Wigan on the weekend but did go into the game following back-to-back wins. The hope will be that Saturday's display was just a blip and they're still headed in an upwards trajectory.
Rovers have also become a bit of a bogey side for Charlton since their return to League One in 2022, winning all five encounters since. Tonight's hosts will certainly feel that they're overdue a result against the Gas while Rovers can complete a league double for the third consecutive season.
With just three days separating two games, the chances are that there will be at least a couple of changes for both teams. Here's how we think Calderon might set his team up this evening...
Goalkeeper and defence
It was a rare bad day for Josh Griffiths in goal on Saturday afternoon, having suffered a poor display against Wigan Athletic in the reverse fixture earlier in the season as well.
The goalkeeper played a poor pass to Connor Taylor who also didn't cover himself in any glory as Jonny Smith knicked the ball and fired home a decisive second goal.
However, a week earlier he pulled out one of his best displays of his loan spell at Bristol Rovers. It's easy to forget that the shot stopper is only 23 and that consistency will, hopefully, come in time.
Ahead of him is where we are likely to start to see some changes. The centre-back partnership of Taylor and James Wilson still seems pretty untouchable at the moment, unless Taylor Moore was to come in for either of them. Moore has been playing at right-back of late but was an unused substitute against Wigan on Saturday with Joel Senior getting a chance. It's tough to argue that Senior took that opportunity.
For freshness purposes, it seems likely that there will be rotation at right-back with Moore our pick for coming back in. Jack Hunt has also been deemed fully fit but the 34-year-old doesn't seem close to being selected at this moment in time.
On the opposite flank, there's also a degree of likeliness that there will be a change with Lino Sousa frequently playing under Inigo Calderon with Clinton Mola losing his place early into the Spaniard's tenure. However, the left-back got himself back on the pitch as a substitute on Saturday and there could be an opportunity for the 23-year-old to redeem himself under the new boss.
Sousa is evidently a talented footballer and there's plenty to like about the Aston Villa loanee. However, the left-back conceded the free-kick that led to Wigan's first goal over the weekend and he has been guilty of a few other individual errors that have led to goals. This may be the chance Mola needs to prove to the new head coach that he should be playing.
Midfield
Romaine Sawyers has started all three matches since his arrival at the club earlier this month but they've all had the best part of a week in between them. It's yet to be seen whether he's robust enough to start Saturday, Tuesday but, if you were to guess, it would seem unlikely.
Jamie Lindsay has become a bit of a forgotten man since his red card in Calderon's first game in charge at Stevenage. This one certainly feels like an opportunity for him to also remind spectators of his quality.
Grant Ward has been a stand out player under the new boss while injury issues of last season have thankfully not been repeated...yet. There's enough evidence that the midfielder has shaken off any degree of vulnerability to fitness issues and should be more than fine to start this evening.
Ahead of Ward and Lindsay, changes are also likely. Realistically, none of Isaac Hutchinson, Ruel Sotiriou or Luke Thomas had good games against Wigan but swapping all three seems unlikely.
Hutchinson seems to be the best option in that central hole but who flanks him is up for debate. Shaq Forde and Scott Sinclair are waiting in the wings with the former suddenly seeing game time of late reduced after being an unused substitute against Barnsley and coming on in the second half against Wigan. Meanwhile, Sinclair started the Barnsley game but was also a substitute on the weekend.
It requires a degree of guesswork to accurately predict the route Calderon might go down with his wingers bringing in Sinclair for Sotiriou and keeping Thomas in seems the most likely selection at this moment in time but giving Forde a start wouldn't come as a surprise.
Striker
Inigo Calderon admitted after the Wigan defeat that Gatlin O'Donkor was isolated at times up top as the striker's endeavour couldn't be faulted as he looked to create an opening for himself.
That doesn't mean he'll suddenly have a strike partner this evening, but it's an interesting possibility to ponder if it continues.
On the back of a goal against Barnsley and some decent displays in January, the 20-year-old is expected to keep his place in the side with Chris Martin waiting in the wings as and when needed.
The 36-year-old could be recalled but there's no suggestion that O'Donkor can't start twice in four days. It may just be a case of withdrawing the Oxford United loanee earlier in the game if it's not happening for him.
Bristol Rovers XI (4-2-3-1): Josh Griffiths; Taylor Moore, Connor Taylor, James Wilson, Clinton Mola; Grant Ward, Jamie Lindsay; Luke Thomas, Isaac Hutchinson, Scott Sinclair; Gatlin O'Donkor
