Brothers pack a punch as they achieve boxing successes
BOXING brothers punched their way to a memorable family weekend.
Harvey Turner won his first national title, while his elder brother Luke tasted victory with England.
Both live on Carrington Park estate – the former Carrington Wire factory site – and compete for the Everton Triangle club in Liverpool, though they started out with Warrington’s Phoenix Fire Boxing Club.
For Harvey, 17, his dedication and perseverance paid off as he won the England Boxing National Youth Championships 80kg final after finishing runner-up on three previous occasions.

He scored a unanimous decision in his semi-final success against Adam Mirga from Halliwell Bolton on Saturday.
And then the following day he defeated London champion Tyler Youmbi from Repton Boxing by a 4-1 split decision to achieve gold.
Harvey, who is number one in the country, will go on to represent England in the Four Nations event in Cardiff in June.
Meanwhile Luke, 20, boxed for England against the German number one Alexandros Popadopolous on Friday, winning by unanimous decision.
Luke is a three-times national title winner who won a National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs' belt earlier this season.
He fights at 75kg and is the number one in the country, fifth in the commonwealth and is in the European top 10.
All the bouts took place at the Magna Science and Adventure Centre in Rotherham.
There was further success in the England Boxing National Youth Championships for Warrington.
Kai Cairns became Phoenix Fire’s latest national champion.
He won both of his bouts to secure the title, defeating Charlie Royle of Lancashire School of Boxing via a third-round stoppage on Saturday.
And then on Sunday he came out on the right side of a 3-2 split points decision in a very competitive contest against two-time national champion and previously undefeated Albie Dowell of Hockley Boxing Club in Essex.

Phoenix boxers will be competing at Eagle Sports and Social club in Penketh on February 27. Contact the club for tickets.
