Bruno Guimaraes feelings revealed as Newcastle United dressing room react to Arsenal victory

Newcastle United players have given their reaction to the Carabao Cup first leg victory over Arsenal as the team took a step closer to a final at Wembley Stadium.

The Magpies take a 2-0 advantage into the second leg thanks to goals either side of half time from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon. The second leg will be played at a bouncing St James’ Park on Wednesday 5 February as the team look to complete the job.

The win over Arsenal was Newcastle’s seventh win in a row in all competitions with Eddie Howe’s side not fearing anyone in their path. The side are back in action on Saturday as they take on Bromley in the FA Cup third round on Sunday afternoon, before taking on Wolves at St James’ Park in the Premier League next Wednesday.

For the squad, eyes will already be on the upcoming games. A few did however take to social media to give their response to the win over Arsenal, with a lot having the same message about the tie only being at the half way point.

Goalscorer Alexander Isak wrote on Instagram: “first half” along with a green tick emoji. That post earned a response from Bruno Guimaraes, who watched the game from home, he wrote in the replies “Goleador” which translates as “Goal scorer.”

Guimaraes also replied to Antony Gordon’s post on Instagram. The winger posted a picture of the celebrations for his goal along with a saluting emoji, with Guimaraes writing “What a player man,” in the replied.

The midfielder also gave his reaction on his Instagram stories. He wrote: “Well done boys!!! Let’s go for more,” along with praying hands and black and white heart emojis.

Fellow midfielder Sandro Tonali posted “One More Game” with Jacob Murphy replying with “Hunny” and a red heart emoji. Kieran Trippier wrote: “A brilliant performance, now back to St James Park”

Sven Botmanm Tino Livramento and Joe Willock all posted about the tie being half way through, with eyes clearly on the second leg. Injured striker Callum Wilson also posted “One step closer” with star, fire and clapping emojis.
