Bukayo Saka makes Arsenal feelings clear after Wolves win and Myles Lewis-Skelly red card drama
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has given his response to his side’s 1-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, as he appears to make his feelings on the red card for Myles Lewis-Skelly clear.
Riccardo Calafiori’s goal in the 74th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides after the 90 minutes, with Arsenal taking a crucial three points. But they had to play 27 minutes with a man disadvantage following the controversial red card in first half.
Referee Michael Oliver showed Lewis-Skelly a straight red card for a challenge on Matt Doherty as he started to break away. It led to protests from the Arsenal players, but a VAR check concluded that a clear and obvious error hadn’t been made with the on-field decision remaining.

The number of players on the pitch for each team were levelled up in the 70th minute when Joao Gomes was shown a second yellow card. It got better for Wolves just four minutes later with Calafiori’s goal proving to be the winner.
Saka has been forced to watch from the sidelines for the last few weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the 5-1 win over Crystal Palace back in December. The winger was cheering his teammates on from home.
After the match, he shared a picture on his Instagram story showing him watching the game on TV from home. He then reposted Arsenal’s full-time graphic with the 1-0 scoreline, but adding an emoji of a frustrated face.
The frustration is likely to be about the red card for Lewis-Skelly. Following the game, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta didn’t hold back in his thoughts on the decision.
“I think it’s that clear that I’ll leave it to you,” he told Sky Sports. “I’m absolutely fuming but I’ll leave it with you because it’s that obvious that I don’t think my words are going to help.”
