Burnley are not what Leeds United may be expecting and it could blast open title race
Sitting down in 21st place with just seven wins to their name this season, Portsmouth boast a tally of 36 goals scored in the Championship this season. It's the same total as title-chasing Burnley!
One thing Scott Parker's side have not been this campaign is prolific in front of goal. The frugal approach has worked with 15 wins and just two losses in their 28 games putting the Clarets just three points behind a Leeds United side who have a league high 53 goals to their name, almost an average of two goals a game.
A side built on solidity at the back, Burnley have been good value for their points return, but have gone about their business in a different manner to many. All that, you would imagine, points to a tight and nervy game at Turf Moor tomorrow night given what is at stake.

For Leeds a win would take them four points clear of Sheffield United in second place and six points ahead of Parker's team, while a win for Burnley would move them level on points with the Whites and turn up the pressure further in the promotion race.
Ahead of the game we find Parker in confident mood, not just about the immediate task in hand, but the way his side are developing. The Burnley boss feels stats can be a little misleading and aware of the goal-scoring statistic, Parker is confident the rest of the division will see a change in the second half of the campaign.
He said; “I've seen signs of it. I think that a snapshot, a stat and a number sometimes doesn’t represent that in a real game.
“When you're watching a game, and you watch a number of our games, there have been some real fine margins when we're not on the end of maybe some bigger scorelines. There’s no hiding from the fact that’s an element of our game that we've had to improve.
“We worked tirelessly early on when I first came in here to give us some solid structure and a real foundation. I think the volume of work we put in, no doubt, was probably heavily weighted more on the defensive side of things and to get the team organised and give ourselves a platform.
“Over the last two months, these boys, we've been working tirelessly with them in terms of trying to make us that more threat in the top line with our movements.
“Certainly our final quality, sometimes we've become a little bit rough early on. I thought [against Plymouth] we showed a real composure, picked out men, our movements on the side of the pitch, we exploited spaces they were leaving and we executed very, very well. Long may that continue as a work in progress.
“As every coach will tell you, you'd love a magic wand and you'd love to fix things really, really quick. But we'll keep nudging away here and keep improving as much as we can.”
