Caitlin Clark broke the WNBA rookie single-season scoring record in the most Caitlin Clark way possible
Caitlin Clark broke the WNBA rookie single-season scoring record Sunday on a 3-point shot because, of course, she did. Did you expect anything else?
We all knew it was coming. After breaking the WNBA single-season assist record just days ago on a relatively routine (and somewhat calm for her) play, it doesn't surprise me one bit that Caitlin heaved a silky 3-pointer for a new record.
During a thriller with the Wings, Caitlin brought the ball up the floor in the third quarter, trying to evade some defensive pressure from Dallas. She managed to create just enough space for a shot and SWISSSH. BOOOM. BANGGGG. Down went Seimone Augustus' record, which has stood for 18 years.
Rewriting the history books has been nothing new to Caitlin Clark, who has passed Seimone Augustus (744) for most points by a rookie in a single WNBA season 🙌
