Callum Hudson-Odoi injury update provided as Nottingham Forest prepare for Brighton clash
Callum Hudson-Odoi has been ruled out of Nottingham Forest’s clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Reds winger will be absent for the second successive game when the Seagulls visit the City Ground on Saturday (12.30pm kick-off). He missed last weekend’s 5-0 thumping at Bournemouth with the groin injury he sustained against Southampton.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is unsure when Hudson-Odoi will be fit to return to action. However, he does have long-term absentees Danilo (broken ankle) and Ibrahim Sangare (hamstring) fully back in contention.

“Callum is out. He is not going to be involved in the game. It is a big absence for us,” Nuno said.
“We are still assessing. It is something we hope to improve soon but he is not going to be available for this game.
“The rest is basically the same. Ibrahim and Danilo are ready; they joined the squad.”
Forest’s collapse on the south coast brought an end to their nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions. Ahead of kick-off on Saturday, though, they remain third in the Premier League table and still on course to have a special season.
Nevertheless, Nuno is keen to see a reaction from his players as they look to bounce back against the Seagulls. He previously referred to defeat at the Vitality Stadium as a “warning” and he wants a much improved performance from the hosts this time around.
“We have to perform much better,” he said. “We have to be more solid and play better football. We were not accurate and missed a lot of passes last weekend.
“We have so many things to improve. We have a big challenge ahead of us because Brighton are a very good team.”
