Calvin Ramsay has returned to Scotland and will spend the remainder of the season on loan with Kilmarnock in the latest move for the former Aberdeen ace.

The one-time Scotland cap has struggled on spells away from parent club Liverpool - who he joined from the Dons for a then record fee back in 2022 - with the likes of Wigan, Preston and Bolton.

But he will now look to revive his career back in his homeland where it all started, as he looks to impress under former Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes.

He could be in for a tough start however, as Killie are next in action against Scottish Cup holders Celtic in their fourth round clash at Parkhead.

Should that come too soon then his return to Premiership action would come against Hearts on January 25, with Killie sitting just two spots above the 11th-placed Jambos in ninth.

McInnes said of the deal: "When the opportunity came up to sign Calvin we jumped at it. I’d like to thank Liverpool for their cooperation once again on this deal."

Ramsay has made just two senior appearances for Liverpool, both ending in victory as they downed Napoli in the Champions League and Derby County in the Carabao Cup under former boss Jurgen Klopp.

And injury issues have blighted his career since leaving Pittodrie, with his first season at Anfield curtailed before further problems during his loan spells across Lancashire.
