Cardiff City player ratings as defender has nightmare and substitutes fail to ignite
Jak Alnwick 5
Save one hairy moment on the stroke of half-time, reminiscent of that injury-time mistake at Stoke, he did OK. Might have done better with Kieffer Moore's second at his near post - but it was well placed.
Andy Rinomhota 6

Another really assured outing at right-back. Was physical but clever, too. Careful on the ball and burst forward when the opportunity presented itself.
Dimitrios Goutas 5
He generally challenged quite well in the air and kept it simple on the ground. None of the goals were his fault, which is something.
Calum Chambers 5
Often doubled up on Moore with Goutas and Daland. Was up against it for large portions of the second half but did OK.
Jesper Daland 3
Had a nightmare for both goals. Had to be stronger in the challenge with Moore before he rifled the ball into the net for his first and gave the ball away for the Wales striker's second. One to forget for him.
Joel Bagan 5
Kept the dangerous Jesurun Rak-Sakyi fairly quiet on his flank. Sat pretty deep and had only fleeting moments supporting the attack.
Manolis Siopis 6
The sort of game for which he is tailor-made. Battled hard and was a nuisance to the Blades' midfielders, but was sloppy on the ball at times.
Alex Robertson 5
Didn't have much scope to stretch his creative legs considering the type of match and Cardiff's game plan. Looked leggy later on. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.
Anwar El Ghazi 5
Formed a focal point for Cardiff's attack and while he offered an outlet, he just couldn't fashion many chances for himself or others.
Yakou Meite 6
Another who toiled away, attempting to win headers and duels. But did his job well enough given his remit.

Chris Willock 6 (star man)
Cardiff's most obvious attacking threat and a real bright spark. He held on to the ball well, embarked on winding, powerful runs and looked to create. A worry he came off with an injury just after half time.
Subs
Rubin Colwill (Willock 48) 5 - Couldn't really get anything going as the tide turned when he came on.
Callum Robinson (El Ghazi 72) 5 - Had no real platform from which to play.
Cian Ashford (Meite 83) NA - Had a couple of encouraging runs.
Ronan Kpakio (Robertson 83) NA - Nice for him to get his league debut, albeit in a losing cause.
Wilfried Kanga (Daland 83) NA
