Wilfried Kanga has officially left Cardiff City.

The striker was recalled by parent club Hertha Berlin on Monday evening and has promptly joined Champions League outfit Dinamo Zagreb for the rest of the season.

In a short statement on the club's website, the Bluebirds said: "Forward Wilfried Kanga has this evening been recalled by Hertha BSC.

"Kanga made 16 appearances for the Bluebirds during his loan spell.

"We'd like to wish Wilfried all the very best for the future."

In truth, Kanga's time in south Wales was a major disappointment, with 16 appearances yielding no goals. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.

Dinamo said upon his signing: "Wilfried Kanga is a new Dinamo player, and in the Maksimir team he will strengthen the competition in the offensive part and expand the attacking potential of the Blues. He signed a multi-year contract, and came as a player of Hertha Berlin, where he spent the autumn part of the current season on loan at Cardiff City."

As Kanga leaves the Welsh capital, another striker is hoping to make his mark. New signing Yousef Salech came off the bench in the South Wales derby on Saturday and he'll be hoping to be involved more this evening when the Bluebirds take on Millwall at The Den.

Although early days in his Cardiff career, assistant coach Tom Ramasut says the club are excited by the frontman's potential.

"We have watched a lot of clips of him and seen him in training," Ramasut said.

"Then when you see a player out on the pitch [against Swansea], you see the size, the athleticism, the desire to go and press the ball, the pace that he has, so I am really excited by him.

"And on top of that, his character and his manner around the building have been incredible. He is going to be a great addition."

Meanwhile, reports in Africa credit Cardiff with interest in Guinean centre-forward Ousmane Camara. AfricaFoot state Swiss side Young Boys are in the driving seat for his services but that the Bluebirds have shown interest in his profile. He currently plies his trade in the Middle East with Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

In transfer links even further afield, reports in the Far East state Vincent Tan is willing to sign "Malaysian national team starboy" Arif Aiman.

Reports in SuperBall state Tan is willing to bring the player described as a "wonderkid" to one of his teams should his current club Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) decide to release him. The publication adds it is unclear for which side Tan would sign the youngster, with Belgian side KV Kortrijk, the Cardiff owner's other team, also mentioned.

The 22-year-old, who has won 32 caps for Malaysia, plays as a winger.
