Cardiff City transfer latest as midfielder comments 'bizarre', talks confirmed and star nears exit
Cardiff City are just eight days out from a crucial transfer window. With the Bluebirds sitting in the relegation zone for Christmas, it's no understatement to say the next month will have a huge say on where they will be playing their football next season.
A poor window and the threat of relegation could begin to loom large. A productive, positive window and City could see themselves catapult up the table in the second half of the season.

Colwill comments 'bizarre'
Cheltenham Town boss Michael Flynn has had his say on the Joel Colwill situation after Omer Riza revealed he would like to see the midfielder challenge himself at a higher level in the new year.
Colwill has lit up League Two with a string of strong performances for the Gloucestershire side and Cardiff are keeping a close eye on the Wales youth international's progress.
And Riza said he would ideally like to see Colwill move to a League One club and see him test himself at a different level during next month's window, however Flynn hopes the midfielder stays at Cheltenham for the remainder of the season.
"I am not going to say anything on that," Flynn told GloucestershireLive when asked about Riza's comments. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.
"I haven't heard anything. I find it a bit bizarre that you'd tell the press before speaking to us. I am sure that he was just caught out by a question. Joel is with us, playing regular football and I have a good relationship with Cardiff. He is developing. I know how to develop players and bring them on. Let's hope he is still here. I haven't heard anything."
Fagan-Walcott talks confirmed
Riza also confirmed that Malachi Fagan-Walcott could leave the club permanently.
The former Tottenham centre-back impressed during pre-season and it was something of a disappointment for many that he could secure a loan only in the National League. And understandably he has stood out at that level, with York City keen on keeping the defender permanently.
Reports last week suggested the two clubs had agreed a fee for the permanent transfer of the 22-year-old and Riza admitted it is possible the player will leave for good.
"Yeah, there are conversations around Malachi," Riza said. "Obviously he is on loan, but there is potential for [a permanent deal] to happen as well, yeah."

Star edges closer to exit
Jamilu Collins appears to be edging closer to the exit door at Cardiff City.
Collins is understood to be unhappy with his current situation, given how little he has played this season, something which has been unfamiliar to the left-back throughout his playing career.
A favourite of Erol Bulut's, Collins has found himself slip below both Callum O'Dowda and Joel Bagan this season, meaning he has played just three matches this term.
Cardiff need to make room for incomings in the January window, with their squad full to the brim. The likes of Ryotaro Tsunoda, Cian Ashford, Wilfried Kanga and others have all been earmarked as potential departures next month.
But Collins' exit now looks increasingly likely, too. When asked why Collins was not included in the squad at the weekend, with uncapped academy players Troy Perrett and Ronan Kpakio named on the bench, Riza said: "He's just not involved at the minute. He's not in the squad."
He added: "We've got the window coming up in January. Like I stated before, players will be in and out, whether it be loans or whether it's moving on. That's all I can really say on that at the minute."
