Another South Wales derby is upon us, with Cardiff City and Swansea City set to clash at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.

The previous meeting between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw at the Swansea.com Stadium back in August, but this is a fixture Swansea have largely dominated in recent years.

The Swans have won five of the last seven meetings between the two sides, but were beaten on their last visit to the capital, with Cardiff running out 2-0 victors here last season.

How will this latest meeting go? Our writers have given their verdicts.

The fact Swansea were so annoyed at their failure to see out the last meeting perhaps shows how used they've become to dominating this fixture. For one reason or another, Swansea have an incredible grasp on what's required to win this game.

Cardiff once again have a new man in the dugout in Omer Riza, and it's fair to say he could really do with three points here. The Bluebirds are firmly in the midst of a relegation battle and, despite some improved recent performances, defeat on derby day would further compound the desperation around what's been, on the whole, an utterly horrific season. Swansea, on the other hand, are on the outskirts of the play-off conversation and, on the face of it, should be heading into this fixture full of confidence.

But if just feels like there's something not quite right in SA1 at the moment. Luke Williams' failure to promptly shut down the rumours linking him with the job at West Bromwich Albion clearly hasn't sat too well with many members of the Jack Army, neither did the meek FA Cup exit at the hands of Southampton, and the optimism that has underpinned a fairly impressive first half of the season has taken a hit recently.

Victory here would go a long way to further drawing a line under any unease. Defeat, however, would put an even more sizeable dent into Williams' stock with the fans and previous sins may well be dredged up again.

There's subsequently a real case for predicting an ugly stalemate between two sides desperate not to lose, and Swansea's chances may well depend on the fitness of centre-back duo Harry Darling and Ben Cabango, both of whom are racing to be fit for this one.

But if the Swans can find the intensity we all know they're capable of, I expect them to win.

Prediction: 0-2

It is always a bit of a cop-out to go for the draw with derby predictions but I can't see past a share of the spoils here.

The pressure will be on both teams to come out on the front foot and take the game by the scruff - the minimum fans expect during an intense encounter with your fiercest rival. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.

The home team are right in trouble; Cardiff have dodged bullets for the past couple of seasons but make no mistake, as things currently stand, it would be more surprising if the Bluebirds actually escape this time around. Performances may have improved a tad in recent weeks but that hasn't translated to points on the board.

The man in the opposite dugout to Omer Riza will also be feeling the pinch somewhat. Luke Williams would dearly love to bring the entire fanbase back onside with victory on enemy territory following the West Brom rumblings of the past few weeks.

But Swansea remain consistently inconsistent and should either - or both - Harry Darling and Ben Cabango be missing, one fears for their defensive solidity. Then again, the Bluebirds aren't exactly firing on all cylinders in attack. I'm going for a score draw.

Prediction: 1-1

Glen Williams - Cardiff City correspondent

Cardiff really need this one. Struggling at the foot of the table amid a dreadful campaign, they really need a result in this huge fixture to kickstart their survival bid in earnest.

But as is so often the case, Swansea are the worst opponents for Cardiff. The Swans' style of play is the Bluebirds' Kryptonite and if they are firing then Cardiff are so often powerless to it.

Luke Williams' side have not been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks, however. Nor have Cardiff, mind you, but it levels the playing field if Swansea are just searching for something.

Cardiff come into the game on a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions, but have found it a struggle to get over the line in games. My gut feeling is if they avoid Swansea scoring early - which the Swans so often do in this fixture - then it's Cardiff's to lose. If Cardiff keep it level until half-time, I back them to nick it in the second half, not too dissimilar to the game at Cardiff City Stadium last term.

Close one, but I'm going for the hosts in a narrow win.

Prediction: 1-0
