CARLISLE United will make the long trip to Rodney Parade to face Newport County AFC on a Tuesday night in February.

The League Two fixture was originally scheduled for December 7 but was postponed due to safety concerns due to Storm Darragh.

That led to the Cumbrians dropping to the bottom of the table and now they will travel to Newport on Tuesday, February 11 (kick-off 7.45pm).

The new date is in between County’s clash with promotion-chasing Crewe at Gresty Road and a home encounter with Bradford City.

Carlisle face a hectic week with the Newport fixture off the back of an away game at Grimsby, although Mike Williamson will hope to be in healthier league position by then and is likely to have bolstered his squad significantly in January.

“All match tickets purchased for this game will remain valid for the rearranged date. Season Tickets will also remain valid for the re-arranged fixture,” read a County statement.

“If you have purchased a match ticket for this fixture and require a refund, please email ticket.office@newport-county.co.uk with proof of purchase and a member of the team will contact you at the earliest opportunity.

“All refund requests must be submitted and processed before kick-off of the re-arranged fixture.”

The Exiles also have a game to rearrange away to Accrington, who are in FA Cup on the planned date of January 11.
