Carlo Ancelotti addresses Real Madrid transfer plans after Trent Alexander-Arnold approach
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has refused to be drawn on his side's transfer interest in Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold after Los Blancos were rebuffed in an approach heading into the January window.
"It is difficult for me to talk about (January signings) in this context," Ancelotti said during a press conference. "But we are going to have to wait and see. We are focused on all these games in January and the game tomorrow (against Valencia).
"I've got nothing more to say. It's not sensible for me to speak about the market right now. I'm not going to speak about it because right now, here, is not the place to talk about it. We will see what will happen but I have a great squad. We have got injuries and problems with that but we are also able to overcome them."

Liverpool flatly rejected an approach for Alexander-Arnold heading into the January window with Real Madrid keen to explore if it would be possible to accelerate a move. The Spanish giant could sign the Liverpool ace for nothing in the summer as things stand, though there is some hope that he could still pen a contract extension.
"I have been at the club 20 years now and I have signed four or five contract extensions... none of those have been played out in public and this one won't be either," Alexander-Arnold said earlier this season. He has not spoken publicly about the situation since, with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, both in the same position, talking more frequently.
"He scored a great goal and the way he celebrated his goal probably tells you enough," Arne Slot said of Alexander-Arnold after he netted at West Ham last weekend. "So I don't think I have to say much more about it. I'm really happy with Trent, just as happy as I am with Mo and with Virgil.
"So for me there's no difference. For the outside world maybe there's a bit more things happening around Trent in the media than with the other two, but I'm happy with all three at the moment."
