Abdoulaye Doucoure returns to Everton’s starting line-up after missing the win at Crystal Palace. The midfielder missed out last Saturday as he served a one game suspension for the red card he received in the Merseyside derby.

But he makes an immediate return to face Manchester United, with Carlos Alcaraz making way despite his match-winning display in south London. The 22-year-old scored and created Beto’s opener in the 2-1 win in what was his first start since joining the Blues on loan from Flamengo.

Whether to stick with Alcaraz or bring back Doucoure was the only dilemma for Moyes given the state of his squad. Nathan Patterson, Seamus Coleman, Iliman Ndiaye, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti are among the injured players who remain unavailable.

As a result, Beto will seek to build on his recent good form and will lead the line after grabbing four goals in his last three games. A win today could see Everton move 16 points clear of the bottom three.
