Casemiro Manchester United transfer exit path 'cleared'
Manchester United's hopes of finally offloading Casemiro may have been given a lifeline. The Brazilian is one of the players understood to have been made available for a move in the January transfer window but no deal has materialised yet.
Casemiro has fallen down Ruben Amorim's pecking order in midfield this season with Toby Collyer utilised in January. The 32-year-old hasn't played a single minute in 2025 and was an unused substitute for the sixth game running on Sunday against Fulham as Collyer came off the bench in the second half for United ahead of the Brazilian.
"He has to be the characteristics and then I have to choose the player with characteristics that I see the game. So it's just that," the United boss explained when asked why Casemiro's opportunities had dried up.

"I have to make some choices. I want to play a style of game that is sometimes different from other coaches and I have to choose based on that, that's all."
At the beginning of the January transfer window, it was reported that Cristiano Ronaldo had asked Al-Nassr to move for the midfielder. The pair won 12 trophies together at Real Madrid and were reunited at United under Erik ten Hag.
Saudi Pro League sides Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad have been credited with interest but Ronaldo is said to want to reunite with Casemiro. Any move to Al-Nassr has gone quiet in recent weeks but it could resurface in the final week of the window.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Anderson Talisca is close to joining Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce. An agreement is said to be in place and the Brazilian is set to undergo his medical in Turkey, meaning Al-Nassr will have a foreign player spot freed up.
Casemiro's signing would fill that spot and it has previously been claimed that was what was preventing a possible move for the United star - meaning the Brazilian's path to joining former teammate Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League could now be cleared. However, his reported £350,000-per-week salary could yet present a problem.
