Castore owner tells Rangers why they're MASSIVE unlike EPL pretenders as Ibrox side's role in £1bn fortune revealed

Not many of the clubs Castore have made kits for are truly global – but Rangers are one of the exceptions.

That's according to the sportswear brand's owner who says teaming up with the Ibrox club has been 'transformational' for the brand, and helped catapult him to a £1bn fortune. Castore have been making Rangers' kits since 2020 and despite the reported switch to Umbro next season, will remain closely invested – since Castore own the marketing rights to Umbro in the UK and various countries across Europe.

They've been talked up as a legitimate contender to Nike and Adidas and, in addition to Rangers, currently produce kits for Burnley, Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen. They're also set to take on Everton's from 2025/26, while Rangers will be sporting the Umbro brand along with Premier League sides like West Ham and Brentford.

Castore were little-known when they took on the Rangers kits back in 2020 but they're a big deal in sportswear now. And owner Tom Beahon told the Secret Leaders podcast that they have Rangers to thank.

He said: "A lot of clubs think they have a global fanbase but there's not that many who do. Rangers FC was the transformational partnership I would say.

"Globally recognised club and brand, genuinely global fanbase. People might watch the Premier League in Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia and Mexico, but they tend to support quite a small handful of teams. Rangers is one that people know all over the world. So that was a big part of it."
