Celtic celebrate Irish roots in new Adidas range - but shocked fans are all left saying the same thing
After teasing fans with the prospect of a new kit celebrating their Irish roots, Celtic fans have been left underwhelmed by a new range marking their history.
Supporters had been sent into a frenzy when the club teased the launch of the new range, featuring the iconic Adidas Originals logo, with many hoping that a historic strip was on the way to help Brendan Rodgers' side celebrate lifting another Premiership title - which could be confirmed in just a few weeks. However that dream was short lived, as the club revealed a new training shirt, bomber jacket and tracksuit bottoms.
The training shirt features a subtle background pattern that cycles between the club's iconic four-leaf clover and the traditional shamrock of Ireland. They grey trackies have a large clover on the left thigh, whilst the bomber jacket has a huge four leaf clover on the back.

However fans on social media were left gutted that there was no new strip for the first team to wear, and then shocked when they saw the price of the new range. The t-shirt comes in at a cool £90, with the trackies priced at £70 and the bomber jacket, sold out in 2XL and 3XL within half-an-hour of going on sale, costing a whopping £130.
One fan on social media said: "Could have done anything with it with any design. Aye make it green put badge in middle that'll do, £90!" Another said: "So this is what Elite status gives you eh? A £90 T-shirt, spun out to be an Irish connection," and a third added: "I love it, but not enough to pay £90 for it."
One supporter even called for the fans to be given the chance to design the next range, posting: "Need to get the guys on social media who design concept kits to take over, such a let down." However the reaction wasn't all negative, with a more upbeat Hoop adding: "All English tops are that price and since Adidas gave us elite status our tops are going to be the same price. Personally I'm not too keen on it just now but I'll still end up buying it."
