The cheeky Bundesliga website has written off Celtic once again – but they've dialled it back a touch since confidently declaring Leipzig would down the Hoops.

Bayern travel to Glasgow to face Brendan Rodgers' team this evening and the hosts are 6/1 outsiders to win on the night – and as much as 8/1 to qualify against the high-flying Bundesliga leaders. It would be one of the upsets of the tournament were Celtic to shock them, and having come through the league phase with flying colours, there is a confidence emanating from Parkhead. But in Germany, they simply don't see anything other than a Bayern win.

Vincent Kompany and the Bayern camp have been respectful vowing they won't underestimate their opponents, but the much of the noise outside the bubble predicts a whitewash. That includes the Bundesliga website – never one to shy away from a confident prediction – who have previewed the match with the headline 'five reasons Bayern Munich will progress against Celtic.'

If that sounds familiar, it's because they ran a similarly confident prediction back in November - back then it was 'five reasons RB Leipzig will beat Celtic.' The Hoops then took Leipzig apart with a 3-1 win, and fans have noticed that this time, they've stopped just short of predicting a Bayern win on the night.

Sporting Lisbon, curiously, haven't been given the same courtesy. They've been informed Dortmund will beat them in Lisbon AND progress – and some Celtic fans on social media reckon it's a sign they've been stung by the Hoops before.

Record Sport, in any case, do think Celtic have a puncher's chance. Our writers fancy a draw on the night, while one even reckons the return of Daizen Maeda could push them over the line to a famous Parkhead win under the Champions League lights.
