Celtic fans travel latest: Chaos on roads as Traffic Scotland issue key update on Friarton Bridge
Celtic fans heading to Dens Park tonight can breathe a sigh of relief after it was announced that the Friarton Bridge has reopened.
Around 3,500 Hoops diehards are set to make the journey to the City of Discovery as Brendan Rodgers' league leaders take on Dundee in the 8pm kick-off. But earlier today, supporters were urged to consider alternative travel options after the Friarton Bridge was shut down due to smoke from a blaze at a nearby recycling centre.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene in the early hours of this morning to tackle the huge inferno underneath the M90 and the busy motorway was closed on both directions. Celtic's proactive SLO, John Paul Taylor, had urged supporters to consider other routes as motorists were advised to avoid the area due to the fumes.

However, Traffic Scotland announced just after lunchtime that the major bridge has reopened: "Both northbound and southbound of the Friarton Bridge has now REOPENED. Delays remain heading southbound but clearing quickly."
The Hoops can extend their lead at the top of the table to a staggering 18 points should they get the job done against the Dees, with rivals Rangers not in action until Wednesday night's clash with Aberdeen.
