Celtic kickstart clearout with major Alexandro Bernabei transfer profit as fee revealed while 4 more head for the exit
Celtic will rake in their first windfall of 2025 today when Alexandro Bernabei completes his £4.5 million move to Internacional.
The Brazilian club sent sports director André Mazzuco to Glasgow to conclude the deal with Celtic for the 24-year-old full back, who impressed on loan with his club. And the deal will be concluded with the player set to sign a four-year deal. Internacional had an option to sign Argentinian defender Bernabei permanently until January 31 or other clubs could enter the bidding war. But it seems they have persuaded Celtic to sell the left back for a knockdown fee, given Celtic were reportedly originally asking for £7million for the former Lanus defender.
The 24-year-old cost Celtic £3.75 million when he joined from Lanus in June 2022 and the Hoops are set to make a marginal profit. And Bernabei's sale could kick off the start of a few departures from Celtic with Stephen Welsh set to go on loan to Belgium.

Norwegian outcast Odin Thiago Holm is poised to head to the MLS. Forgotten Polish defender Maik Nawrocki could also leave, with Honduran winger Luis Palma facing an uncertain future too after interest from American clubs.
