Celtic learn Louie Barry transfer rules as Aston Villa masterplan laid bare by Unai Emery
Aston Villa have made their plan for Louie Barry very clear – as Celtic watch on with keen interest.
Record Sport exclusively revealed Brendan Rodgers is ready to test the resolve of the English Premier League outfit by submitting a seven-figure offer for the attacker. His impressive form out on loan at Stockport County has alerted a number of clubs including the Hoops - but Unai Emery has ONE plan for the 21-year-old and made it known in his press conference.
Villa and Celtic meet next midweek in the Champions League as the duo bring their league phase campaigns to an end. That would present an ideal time for the top brass at Parkhead to speak in person to Villa Park chiefs over the youngster, who has been given the chance to impress in training. That seems to be the case with Emery confirming he wants to get a new deal over the line for Barry and then put him back out on loan to gain further first-team experiencer.

He explained: “We are very happy with Barry but we have one plan with him and that is to extend his contract and continue his process as a player. And to go on on loan, get experience and confidence. How we are working with him now and last year is the right way for him.”
It's set to be a final week or so in Glasgow's east end with Kyogo and Jota's Rennes in and out expected to be completed in the next 24 hours. Rodgers also confirmed to the press earlier today he WANTS another striker on board before the close of the window.
A number of fringe men have already been shipped out on loan and others could follow. Kieran Tierney is another big name the fans are desperate to see holding the scarf aloft with pre-contract discussions underway and hopes of a move this month being discussed.
