Celtic lost Kyogo but we have Adam Idah to worry about, says Stephen Frail
Stephen Frail knows Motherwell face a huge challenge to get a result against champions Celtic this afternoon – but is just glad to have the game.
Frail has been tasked with taking the team for the Fir Park encounter, in the wake of Stuart Kettlewell’s decision to quit as manager on Monday.
It has been a difficult week, but Frail says everybody should be firing on all cylinders against the Glasgow giants.
But having watched English cracks Aston Villa edge Celtic 3-2 in their Champions League clash at Villa Park on Wednesday, Frail is under no illusions about the task facing him and his side.
“I think everybody can see how big a challenge it is when you look at the players that they’ve got,” said Frail. “You lose a guy like Kyogo, and then they have the lad Adam Idah.

“I think it’s been argued that he’s probably not been as effective, but I watched his performance the other night, and that’s the level that we need to put up with and deal with.
“The players know that. They know they’re facing 20 players that are coming, with their starters and their subs, that are all quality in every position.
“It’s a challenge that they’ll relish, and one I know they’re excited about. They want to make sure they go and put in a good performance.
“I’m glad it’s out there at Fir Park. These games, the players tend to lift themselves for. The players know that we’ve under-performed as a group of players and staff, and it’s important that we try and get that back on track.
“It’ll be a tough game. I watched their game the other night against Aston Villa and, apart from the first ten minutes, I thought they were terrific. So we know the challenge, but that’s a challenge you always face against Celtic.
“But we’ve managed to lift the players. They’ll be working hard today on the threats of Celtic, but also the threats that we can bring to them, and hopefully we can do that and get a really positive result or performance.”
