Celtic predicted XI as Brendan Rodgers seriously short on strikers and has Carter Vickers hole to fill
It's the finale of the newly revamped Champions League first stage and what a way to bring the curtain down.
It's Battle of Britain time once again and this time it is Celtic's turn after Rangers battled it out with Manchester United and Tottenham in the Europa League. But it is Europe's top table under the lights tonight as Aston Villa welcome Brendan Rodgers and co to Birmingham. Both teams have already stamped the ticket for the play-off round but Unai Emery's men can still finish in the top eight with three points and a slip up from a rival above, while the Hoops can also still do it with a win - although SEVEN results must unfold.
Looking ahead to tonight and Rodgers faces some big decisions in his ranks. Mainly four positions will require answers - but sadly for the Hoops faithful Jota is not one of them despite signing on the dotted line. The fans' favourite is back from Rennes but he can't get his Champions League campaign up and running until the next stage when he can be registered.

Addressing the media ahead of the Villa Park showdown, Rodgers has confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers will miss out. He is likely to be back for the weekend but will sit this one out with no risk needed. Daizen Maeda serves a ban after his sending off against Young Boys while Alex Valle is back at Barcelona after kicking his last ball at Celtic. Star man Kyogo - who netted a hat-trick in the last game but watched all three efforts ruled out - is now at Rennes. James Forrest remains out ruling out one potential wing option.
Luis Palma has been linked with an exit from the club but could he be set to bow out with one final big performance or will Rodgers turn to Yang for that key Maeda role. He offers so much more than an attacking presence and his absence will be felt by the visitors. He also offers a striker option and with Kyogo gone and Maeda suspended that leaves Adam Idah as the lone first-teamer. That could open the door to a bench spot for a youngster like Daniel Cummings.
