Celtic vs Bayern Munich dates revealed as UEFA confirm details for blockbuster Champions League clash

Celtic have discovered the dates for their huge Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich.

Brendan Rodgers and his troops got paired with the German giants in the draw for the play-off round earlier today with other possible opponents Real Madrid facing off against Pep Guardiola and Manchester City in another mouthwatering clash. Now, the reward for qualifying for the next stage from the league phase is a crack at the Bundesliga giants over a two-legged encounter with the first game now confirmed for Wednesday, February 12 at Parkhead. The game will kick-off at the traditional 8pm.

The return match at the Allianz Arena takes place less than a week later with the two going head to head once more on Tuesday, February 18. Again getting underway at 8pm. The winner will advance to the next stage and join the top 8 finishes including Liverpool, Barcelona and Aston Villa in the last 16 of the competition. Defeat and it is elimination.

Punters will be hoping UEFA don't slap an away fan travel ban on the Premiership champions. The club released a statement in the wake of Wednesday's midweek defeat to Aston Villa after pyrotechnics were thrown on the pitch.

With Celtic already on a two-year suspended ban after repeated infractions following several warnings and fines from the governing body, there is a now a real fear they will face Bayern without any travelling supporters.
