Celtic XI predicted as life after Kyogo looks good for out of form striker and Aston Villa rotation on the cards
The Celtic frontline will look a little less familiar this afternoon...before it starts to look very familiar again.
Kyogo has played his last match for the champions and is in France putting the finishing touches on a move to Ligue 1 outfit Rennes. He won't be leading the line at home to Dundee this afternoon, although with a deal to bring Jota home n the opposite direction, it's not as if the Hoops front three is going to be unrecognisable come February.
For now though, Brendan Rodgers will have a very different focal point in attack. Adam Idah's impact during his loan spell from Norwich last season convinced Rodgers and the board to part with £9.5million of the cold, hard stuff to make him a fully fledged Celtic player. This term however, he's not exactly provided value for money and there has been criticism over his recent form. In Idah's defence, he has been in and out of the side and Kyogo's departure should give him a regular run of games to rediscover his mojo, starting against the Dark Blues.
After getting the job done against Young Boys in midweek, Rodgers could be tempted to rotate a bit. That could mean starts of Alex Valle, Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo, especially with the small matter of Aston Villa to come this Wednesday night. Here's how Record Sport reckons they might shape up.
