Champions League plan to use VAR during quarter-finals
UEFA’s Champions League tournament could introduce VAR as soon as this season’s quarter-final stage.
Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur could be one of the first English sides to use the video tool after its mainstream introduction at the World Cup in Russia this summer.
The group stage draw is set for next Thursday and will take place in Monaco.

According to The Times, UEFA took heart from a successful experience in Russia, and the club competitions committee should recommend it usage when they meet next week.
The article claims that VAR would require extensive resources and may not be appropriate for a game night that has eight simultaneous matches, ruling out the group stages.
The workload would be reduced when the tournament arrives at the knockout stages, meaning that any VAR implementation can be monitored more intensively.
