Championship promotion odds as advantage clear after fresh Leeds United twist
Leeds United are still the bookmakers' favourites to earn promotion from the Championship despite Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers.
The Whites lead the table by three points after Sheffield United lost 2-1 to Sunderland and Burnley were held to a goalless draw by Stoke City. Daniel Farke will nevertheless rue the missed opportunity to stretch his team's lead to six points against Blackburn.
After being left frustrated for the majority of the contest, Leeds were on course for the win when Pascal Struijk coolly slid home from the penalty spot just two minutes from time. Having kept their composure for most of the match, a lack of it ultimately cost them near the end.

On 90 minutes, the defence failed to clear a corner and saw the ball ricochet off several body parts in the box as Blackburn defender Danny Batth scooped the ball home. It handed the hosts a nervous wait with Sheffield United kicking off later in the day.
But their subsequent defeat at the Stadium Of Light meant that Leeds retained their status as pace-setters, with the Blades now down in third on goal difference and Burnley - also on 49 points - sitting second.
Leeds take on strugglers Hull City on Saturday afternoon, where a win will guarantee their place at the top of the Championship, ahead of the FA Cup Third Round clash at home to Harrogate Town the following weekend.
Farke's men are enjoying a seven-game unbeaten run, having not lost since the narrow 1-0 defeat at Blackburn on November 30. In that time, Leeds have scored 14 goals and conceded only three times - keeping four clean sheets.
And it is therefore no surprise to see the bookmakers put Leeds as the team most likely to earn promotion to the Premier League come May.
