Everything looks stacked in Leeds United's favour ahead of their Yorkshire derby at Hull City. Daniel Farke's team are in good form, having gone seven matches without defeat to move top of the Championship.

In stark contrast, the Tigers are in the relegation zone after a miserable campaign. A lack of attacking firepower is a big factor behind their struggles. They are the lowest scorers in the division with just 22 goals from their 25 matches. Although City produced a battling performance against Middlesbrough on New Year's Day, they failed to register a single shot on target and Boro substitute Alex Gilbert grabbed a late winner to break their hearts.

"It was a game that didn't look like it was going to be for us, but we need to learn to at least get that point at the very end," said head coach Ruben Selles. "Middlesbrough are a good team, they are powerful, and the players on the pitch were doing a good job and then the substitutions made them better.

"We needed to put in a lot of effort and we probably need to know how to navigate those moments. The goal that late, with the amount of effort everyone put in, it's a little bit of heartbreak."

The Tigers are without two of their key attacking weapons in ex-United transfer target Liam Millar and Mohamed Belloumi. Both are currently sidelined with season-ending ACL injuries. Winger Ryan Longman, Kasey Palmer, Carl Rushworth, Charlie Hughes and Oscar Zambrano (suspended) will also miss the United clash.

Their performances have markedly improved under Selles, who has recorded two wins, three defeats and two draws since taking over from Tim Walter. However, City have struggled against the Championship's top six this season, losing all but one of their seven matches.
