Charley Hull feeling ‘sharp’ ahead of ANA Inspiration

Charley Hull is aiming to clinch her breakthrough major at the ANA Inspiration this weekend.

The 23-year-old comes into the event at the Mission Hills Country Club in California full of confidence, having won the Ladies European Tour season opener in Abu Dhabi in January.

‘It was good for confidence, because I worked really hard over the winter. To go and win in Abu Dhabi was pretty cool, pretty special.’

With three top ten finishes in the last five years at the ANA, including a second place finish in 2016, it’s a major that Hull has come close to claiming before.

‘I always enjoy playing in the ANA, it’s probably one of my favourite majors. I think the golf course really suits me.’

The world number 24 added that she’s feeling sharp heading into day one of the tournament.

‘I feel like I’m hitting it pretty well. I just didn’t putt very well the last few weeks, but I’ve been working on that so I feel my game’s quite sharp.’

Hull tees off at the ANA Inspiration at 12:55 local time (20:55 BST).
