Che Adams and the 'beautiful connection' with ex Rangers ace as Scot told he 'embodies soul of Torino'
Whilst Scott McTominay's heroics with table-topping Napoli are grabbing the limelight, Scotland teammate Che Adams is also having a debut Serie A campaign to remember.
The 28-year-old, who has been capped 35 times by Steve Clarke, made a free transfer switch from Southampton to Torino over the summer and is becoming a real favourite of the Granata support at the Stadio Olimpico Grande. He took his tally to eight goals for the season with a match-winning brace against Cagliari - earning big praise from the Turin press and from his manager, former Rangers defender Paolo Vanoli.
A report in Turin's TuttoSport said: "He (Adams) is certainly the best of the summer signings, the only one who has stood out. He gives everything on the pitch, he doesn't save himself and to these characteristics he also adds a good instinct in front of goal. A brilliant catch from the summer transfer market: it's fair to give credit to (Torino sporting director) Davide Vagnati, who more than anyone and before anyone else thought of it when he was still a free agent.

"Adams is also liked by the Granata fans, who are infected by the Scottish spirit for the ability to skilfully manage pressure. He had to understand Italian football very quickly and managed to find a beautiful, emotional connection with coach Vanoli. Adams has the characteristics that any coach would like, at least from a mental point of view. He doesn't get gloomy when he doesn't start games, on the contrary he finds a way to sting as a substitute.
"On the pitch, he has a very good ability to participate in the defensive phase: this is no small feat and should not be taken for granted, especially when talking about attackers. He's doing very well in Turin and now he's only thinking about ending the season with as many goals as possible: he can do it, especially if Torino have the ability to find him an even more suitable partner for him.
"Adams is exactly the type of player the manager loves. The man who would also play in goal for him, without then complaining about having been employed out of role. Because he participates in the life of the locker room, he is improving his Italian and is listened to by all his teammates. Despite not being a very talkative guy: he opens his mouth with authority, also knowing that he has arrived relatively recently. Speaking after the game, Vanoli added: "For Che it must be just the beginning, we know what kind of player he is. He knows how to make decisions, he must know that he is important for this team. Even if he plays badly, he must know that with one play he can change the game."
