Chelsea make £113m Victor Osimhen transfer decision as Romelu Lukaku price tag set
Chelsea are unlikely to follow up their long-standing interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer.
The Italian club have already confirmed Osimhen will likely leave and the Blues have long been linked as a potential landing spot.
There is thought to be an admiration in the 25-year-old from those at Stamford Bridge amid their plans to sign a top-level striker following the appointment of Enzo Maresca.
Paris Saint-Germain, however, have also been linked with a move for Osimhen as they scour the market for a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe.
Despite holding an interest in Osimhen, Standard Sport understands Chelsea are unlikely to move for the former Lille forward.
His release clause of around £113m is understood to be prohibitive for the Blues, who may need to sell to balance the books for the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.
The club could listen to offers for homegrown duo Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah, while Ian Maatsen should see his loan deal at Borussia Dortmund turned into a permanent move.
Romelu Lukaku, meanwhile, is expected to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis this summer too.
Napoli are keen on the Belgian, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Inter Milan and Roma respectively, although no discussions in regards to a potential swap with Osimhen have been held.
Chelsea are thought to be willing to accept around £38m for Lukaku, who still has two years to run on his contract with the club.
