Conor Gallagher scored a 90th-minute winner as Chelsea battled their way to a 3-2 win over Leeds in the FA Cup.

Three days on from defeat in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, there was more frustration for the Blues as they made an awful start, Moises Caicedo losing the ball on the edge of his own box and Mateo Joseph firing Leeds into an early lead.

Chelsea responded well though and, by half-time, they were in front. Nicolas Jackson finished from a tight angle to equalise, before Mykhailo Mudryk swept home to complete the turnaround before the break.

Leeds were much the better side in the second-half though and deservedly got themselves level, Joseph notching his second as he headed a wonderful Jaidon Anthony cross into the far corner.

The Championship side looked by far the more likely to snatch a winner, Chelsea sat back and relying on counter-attacks, but Gallagher stepped up off the pitch.

He turned smartly from Enzo Fernandez’s pass and finished well past Illan Meslier as the clock ticked towards the end of 90 minutes, much to the relief of Mauricio Pochettino and Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will host Leicester in the quarter-finals, still in with a shot of ending a painful season with some silverware.
