Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta provides positive update following head injury against Southampton
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has provided a positive update after his nasty head injury against Southampton.
Azpilicueta was taken to hospital amid worrying scenes at Stamford Bridge on Saturday after being kicked in the face by Southampton player Sekou Mara.
The 33-year-old Spaniard received oxygen treatment for several minutes on the pitch before being taken off on a stretcher.
On Sunday, Azpilicueta tweeted to thank "everyone who has been looking after me" and say he would be back “soon on the pitch”.
Azpilicueta said: “Hi everyone! Thank you all for your love and messages of support!
“My family and I would like to thank everyone who has been looking after me since yesterday’s incident.

Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by Southampton as pressure increased on manager Graham Potter.
The Blues are next in action against Tottenham on Sunday.
