Thirty-six days Chelsea supporters had to wait for that. To be honest, though, it felt like much longer.

Chelsea are back on track in the Premier League with their first win since the victory over Brentford on December 15. The Blues survived a scare to beat Wolves at Stamford Bridge as the west Londoners climb back into the top four in the top-flight table.

Tosin Adarabioyo handed the hosts the lead in west London after a VAR check overturned the officials' initial decision to rule the goal out. Tosin was deemed onside by those at Stockley Park and that was enough to give Chelsea the advantage on Monday evening.

However, Chelsea knew they would need to maintain their performance levels after the last two league matches at Stamford Bridge saw the Blues start to falter after going ahead. History repeated itself and after some pressure from Wolves on the stroke of half-time, the visitors levelled the match after Matt Doherty took advantage of a messy situation inside the six-yard box.

Whatever Enzo Maresca said to his players at the half-time interval, it clearly worked as Chelsea came out rejuvenated and on top of Wolves once more. Marc Cucurella restored the Blues' lead and it was not long after before Noni Madueke gave the home side a much-needed two-goal cushion in the capital. There were less than five minutes between Cucurella's and Madueke's goals and that took the game away from Wolves.

Chalobah feelings made known

Trevoh Chalobah made an immediate return to the Chelsea side, just five days after he was recalled from his loan spell at Crystal Palace. With the Blues struggling with injuries to central defenders, the club's hand was somewhat forced and they decided to bring Chalobah back to Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the season - at the very least.

Many thought Chalobah was harshly treated as he was left out of the travelling squad for the club's pre-season tour of the United States last summer. The 25-year-old defender was told he can leave the club but has since been recalled because of the ongoing injury problems.

The supporters made their feelings known before the game even started on Monday evening. When the stadium announcer, Lee Parker, read out Chalobah's name when confirming the team news for both sides, there was a noticeably loud cheer.

During the game, with Chalobah producing a Man of the Match performance, fans could be heard singing the Cobham graduate's name consistently. It is clear what the majority of supporters are feeling now Chalobah is back playing in a Chelsea shirt.

Sanchez trend continues

It has become a bit of a trend; Robert Sanchez making costly mistakes for Chelsea. Monday night saw the Spanish goalkeeper spill a cross under pressure and gift Wolves a route back into the match.

Only Ipswich Town's Arijanet Muric (five) has made more errors leading to goals in the Premier League this season than Sanchez. It has become a real frustration for Chelsea fans - most of whom seem to believe the Spaniard is not good enough to be the long-term goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge.

Some supporters that were at the game on Monday ironically cheered Sanchez as he claimed an easy catch in the early moments of the second-half - clearly still scarred with what they saw around 20 minutes before. However, Maresca really believes in the goalkeeper despite what a lot of supporters say.

When asked by Sky Sports about his fourth mistake leading to a goal, Maresca replied: "And how many times has he saved us? I think more than four. No problem. Mistakes happen to him, to the strikers, central defenders. No problem, Robert is doing well."

Garnacho agents spotted

Alejandro Garnacho's agents were spotted at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening as he watched on as Chelsea climbed back into the Champions League places. Carlos Cambeiro and Quique De Lucas, who both represent the Manchester United winger, sparked the speculation over their client's future on Monday.

football.london understands Chelsea are interested in the 20-year-old this month with United said to be open to selling the Argentine. Chelsea are exploring their options in the left wing department with Mykhailo Mudryk provisionally suspended from football after failing a drugs test last month, and there being no clear indication on when he will be able to return to action.

Garnacho has started just three of United's 12 Premier League matches since Ruben Amorim was appointed in November with the Portuguese coach's system not really suiting the winger. Chelsea are admirers of Garnacho but are also interested in Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, as well as Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel.
