New Chelsea FC kit: Blues unveil Nike 2021/2022 home shirt ‘inspired by 1960s’

Chelsea have unveiled their new home shirt for the 2021/22 campaign.

The jersey is made up of the the traditional blue base, souped up with a two-tone pattern which the club says is “inspired by the 1960s”.

The side of the strip features a yellow trim, with the logo of manufacturer Nike also in yellow.

Telecommunications company Three remain the principle shirt sponsor, with car manufacturer Hyundai appearing on the sleeve.

A promotion video title “It’s A Chelsea Thing”, features players from both men’s and women’s teams, including Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Pernille Harder, Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby.

Both are enjoying terrific campaigns, with Chelsea having become the first club ever to see their men’s and women’s outfits reach the Champions League final in the same season.

The women’s team face Barcelona in their showpiece on Sunday, having already won the WSL and League Cup, with the FA Cup still to play for as well.

Thomas Tuchel’s side, meanwhile, have the FA Cup final against Leicester to look forward to on Saturday, before attention turns back to their attempt to finish in the top four and a Champions League final meeting with Manchester City.

According to reports, Tuchel’s men will debut the strip against Leicester at Wembley this weekend.
