Malang Sarr has reacted to Mauricio Pochettino's departure from Chelsea.

The Blues announced on Tuesday that they have parted ways with Pochettino by mutual consent. The Argentine leaves after just a single season at Stamford Bridge, helping the club qualify for Europe after finishing sixth in the Premier League.

Chelsea will play in the Europa League next season unless Manchester United win the FA Cup, in which they will drop down to the Conference League. The club also reached the League Cup final in 2023/24 losing to Liverpool 2-1 after extra-time before being beaten by Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals.

And Sarr's Instagram account has liked the post on Chelsea's official page which confirmed Pochettino's departure. The centre-back arrived at Stamford Bridge in August 2020 from Ligue 1 side Nice.

But the 25-year-old has never managed to nail down a regular spot in Chelsea's first-team having had loan spells at Porto and Monaco during his four years on the books at Chelsea. Sarr has not played a competitive game for the Blues in almost a year and saw a January transfer to Le Havre collapse on deadline day.

The Frenchman has spent most of the campaign training with the club's Under-21s and has struggled badly. A source close to Sarr told The Athletic in February: "I have never seen him as low as this. This is the first time I have seen him like this. He tries to change his mental state, but it is hard when you are not playing.

"He is not in the first-team dressing room anymore, he is with the kids in the other building. He feels outside the group. He tries to hide his feelings, but I know him, what he is really feeling.

"He wants to play football and works hard for that. He is completely fit. But at the moment, he does not know where he is going to play. Friends and family go stay with him occasionally. It is important for him to have people around him.

"He loved playing under Tuchel. But some of the closest friends he made, like N’Golo Kante and Mason Mount, have left. He goes to train because it is his job but I know he finds it very hard because any footballer who knows they are not going to play matches will find it difficult."
