Full-back Marc Cucurella has given his own 'stamp of approval' to Chelsea's interest in Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho.

As football.london understands it, the Blues have broken ahead of Napoli to become frontrunners in the battle for Argentinian. Man United are expecting an opening offer from the Stamford Bridge club very soon.

Garnacho is of top interest to the club, who are actively seeking a left-wing option amid Mykhailo Mudryk's suspension by the FA.

Napoli may not be out of the running yet, though have switched focus to pursuing Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi.

With both the Italians and Man United's desperation to stay within the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the opportunity has exposed itself for Chelsea to strike.

And in another layer to the tale, Cucurella seemingly approves of targeting the 20-year-old as the club's next signing.

This can only be presumed, as the Spaniard has liked an Instagram post from Fabrizio Romano on Thursday evening. The post explains the same facts provided earlier - that Chelsea are preparing an opening offer.

Romano's post further claims that Man United are demanding no less than €70m (£59m) to allow the sale of their academy graduate. This is £19m higher than the opening offer of Napoli last week, which was rebuffed instantly.

As for Cucurella, the interesting factor in his head turning towards such a deal is that Garnacho would hypothetically join him on the left flank of Enzo Maresca's system, therefore striking a partnership.

In past battles between Chelsea and Man United, they have faced one another three times. This has resulted in one win each and a draw to split the record equally.
