Chelsea handed triple early team news hint as Enzo Maresca faces Noni Madueke decision
Chelsea finish off 2024 as they return to Premier League action on Monday evening. The Blues take on newly-promoted Ipswich Town at Portman Road (7.45pm kick-off), looking to bounce back from defeat on Boxing Day.
Enzo Maresca’s men were pegged back from 1-0 up against Fulham to lose the game 2-1 in what was their first defeat since October. That match saw Noni Madueke dropped from the squad entirely, with Maresca confirming that his admission was not due to injury.
But the player himself has now hinted that he could be back involved against Ipswich. The winger has shared a pre-match graphic on his Instagram story - doing so usually indicates a player’s involvement in the game, either from the start or from the bench.

Two other players in Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo have also shared a similar graphic on their Instagram stories, indicating that the duo will again start in midfield as they did against Fulham. Fernandez has started the last seven Premier League games, wearing the captain’s armband, after establishing himself as first choice under Maresca.
Chelsea go into the game against Ipswich knowing that a win will take them back up to second place in the Premier League table. The team currently sit in fourth position, two points behind Nottingham Forest, but with a game in hand over Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Meanwhile, Ipswich sit in 19th place in the table, four points adrift of safety. The Tractor Boys are the only Premier League side yet to win a game at home so far this season.
