Chelsea next manager odds - De Zerbi favourite to replace Pochettino as McKenna heavily backed

Former Brighton & Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi is the early favourite with the bookmakers to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea. The club confirmed that the Argentine had mutually agreed to leave the club on Tuesday evening.

In a statement, they said: "Chelsea FC can confirm that the Club and Mauricio Pochettino have mutually agreed to part ways."

Sporting Directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley then said: 'On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season. He will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge any time and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career.'

"Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez and Sebastiano Pochettino have left the club with Mauricio. The Club will be making no further comment until such time as a new Head Coach is appointed."

It means Chelsea will appoint a fifth head coach under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital's ownership. All eyes will be on who is appointed as the head coach, and the bookmakers have already listed some favourable targets.

De Zerbi is 6/4 favourite to become the new boss at Stamford Bridge, according to Betfair but money is coming for Ipswich Town head coach Kieran McKenna.

McKenna has been heavily linked with a move to Brighton but reports suggest that Chelsea could be looking to steal a march and bring him to Stamford Bridge and he is now 7/2 in the odds.

Thomas Tuchel is available at 11/2 to make a return to the club while Ruben Amorim comes in at 13/2 and Leicester City's Enzo Maresca now priced at 12/1 behind Thomas Frank at 9/1.
