Chelsea perform Renato Veiga transfer u-turn as January exit details emerge
Renato Veiga is set to leave Chelsea in the coming days, but only on loan.
football.london initially understood that Veiga would only be allowed to leave this month on a permanent deal, despite only signing for the Blues in the summer of 2024. Chelsea were looking for a fee in the region of £20million to sell the 21-year-old having signed him for £12million.
However, that stance has now changed, with Veiga set to complete a loan move away from Stamford Bridge to Juventus in Serie A.

Veiga has played 18 times for Chelsea this season with all but one of his starts coming in cup competitions. He has managed seven Premier League appearances and has two goals to his name - both in the UEFA Conference League.
The Portuguese youngster looks set to have a longer term future at Chelsea than initially thought though, with the loan move to Juventus. The Italian giants have agreed a loan deal with the Blues that does not include an option to buy.
The plan is for the 21-year-old to return at the end of the season. Veiga wants first-team football and is planning ahead to the 2026 World Cup with Portugal, looking for more game time in order to secure a place in Roberto Martinez’s squad.
Chelsea, despite the initial plans, did not want to sell the player with Veiga himself not pushing for a permanent exit. Veiga will sign a deal with Juventus until the end of the season. Juve are fifth in Serie A, two points off the top four and a whopping 13 adrift of leaders Napoli. They have, however, qualified for the Champions League play-offs and could yet finish in the top eight and qualify automatically for the last 16.
