Enzo Maresca only has a few more days on the training pitches before Chelsea are back in action. The Blues will lock horns with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they either side look to climb the Premier League table.

Paris Saint-Germain stormed past Pep Guardiola's side in their penultimate Champions League 'league phase' match on Wednesday night, coming from behind to win 4-2. Chelsea will head into this weekend's clash full of confidence knowing City blew a two-goal lead.

While Maresca puts his players through their paces, the Italian be hoping Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart are working hard to bolster his squad before the January window slams shut. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up the latest Chelsea news and transfer gossip.

Chelsea agree Juventus deal

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Renato Veiga on loan until the end of the season. The report states that the Blues will charge the Italian giants a €5m (£4.2m) fee for the 21-year-old defender's services – and no option to buy clause has been included.

Romano adds that Veiga will return to Stamford Bridge in time for the Club World Cup in the summer. It's said that Juventus plan to play the Portugal international, who joined Chelsea as an inverted left-back, at centre-back.

football.london says: "It's a decent deal, but I have no idea why Renato Veiga suddenly wants to jump ship. The youngster would have joined Chelsea knowing he'd play second fiddle to Marc Cucurella – which he has! He had a clear pathway into the starting lineup and opportunities to impress. Now that's in jeopardy."

Amorim makes Garnacho feelings clear

Ruben Amorim has refused to get drawn into speculation linking Alejandro Garnacho with a move away from Old Trafford. football.london understands Chelsea are one of several clubs interested in signing the 20-year-old forward, with the Blues considering their options at left wing.

However, Chelsea face competition for Garnacho, with Napoli also looking to sign the Argentina international. No decision has been made yet from the west Londoners, but they certainly hold an interest in the United ace.

"As I understand the question, let's focus on the game," Amorim said on Wednesday. "I don't want to talk about that, especially before a game [United's clash with Rangers on Thursday evening].

"Our focus is that our players are here to play. We need to improve, we need to win games to have that feeling of winning, it's really important for us so let's focus on that."

football.london says: "Chelsea shouldn't pay more than £25m, maybe £30m at the very most, for Alejandro Garnacho. I wouldn't go anywhere near such a transfer, but perhaps the higher-ups at Stamford Bridge see something that I don't. I'd love to be proven wrong!"

Napoli drop huge transfer hint

According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have made contact with Borussia Dortmund regarding the potential transfer of Karim Adeyemi. Garnacho has been heavily linked with a move to Antonio Conte's side all month but, with United playing hard ball, it appears as if the Italian giants are ready to take their business elsewhere.

The report states that Napoli had their first bid for the Chelsea target rejected and they're yet to find a middle ground with United. Romano adds that the Blues are currently weighing up a formal proposal.

football.london says: "If Napoli throw the kitchen sink at a deal for Karim Adeyemi then that leaves Chelsea in a one horse race for Alejandro Garnacho! I'm hoping the Blues don't sign the Argentina international, but maybe this forces Manchester United to lower their asking price to a fee more digestible..."
