Chelsea can save millions on dream 'next Eden Hazard' signing with clever January transfer trick
Chelsea could sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for a cut-price fee this month. The 23-year-old winger has been briefly linked with a move to the Premier League in the past following his impressive performances for Napoli in the Italian top-flight.
Kvaratskhelia, who sees his contract at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona expire in June 2027, has featured 17 times in the Serie A this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists. Playing a key role in Antonio Conte's side, he's helped Napoli climb to the top of the table.
Despite the Georgia international's modest return in the final third, his eye-catching displays have reportedly courted the interest of some top clubs. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with Napoli regarding a potential transfer this month.

The report states that Kvaratskhelia is no longer viewed as untouchable by the Italian giants, with David Neres forcing himself into the starting lineup. It's said that Conte's side want €80m (£67m) for the Georgian, who's been previously compared to Eden Hazard by Thierry Henry.
Meanwhile, Cesare Casadei has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Football Italia, the Serie A frontrunners have been in talks with Chelsea over a potential deal for the 22-year-old midfielder.
However, the report states that, with the west Londoners unwilling to sell Casadei for anything less than €15m (£12.5m), negotiations have been put on hold. It's said that Napoli remain interested in the youngster, but his price tag has proven to be a stumbling block.
So, if Chelsea were to reignite their previous interest – as reported by ESPN – in Kvaratskhelia, they could potentially arrange a player-plus-cash transfer for cut-price price, with Casadei going the other way. In doing so, Enzo Maresca would get his hands on a top winger, who's previously been compared to a club legend.
Speaking on CBS Sports on Paramount+ in March 2023, Henry heaped great praise on the Napoli star, saying: "Kvaratskhelia is special. I saw him play once against Spain and I thought, 'that kid is not bad' and the coach of the national team is Willy Sagnol.
"He said, 'I have a world-class player in my team'. I thought, 'what the hell is he talking about?!' Well, nobody doubts what he said. What I like about him is he is scared of nobody and he has strength.
"Have some of my legs, and vision, and he can do it. Dribbling, passing or an early pass. Very Eden Hazard-like. He is brilliant. He can do anything. Press. Dribble and assist. The balance, composure and vision."
Henry added: "I think he reminds me of Eden. Let’s give the big man his credit. I know he is struggling, at the minute. But he is strong on his legs. People don’t realise that. When you try to kick him.
"He stands and looks at you and tries to turn you. He reminds me of Eden, the way he balances it out. Play off that nine. Oh, the nine isn’t there? Then I go alone. I really like him."
