Chelsea's January transfer window is on the verge of reaching boiling point as reports swirl around the club.

So far, the Blues have been quiet when it comes to big moves this winter. Perhaps the most noteworthy piece of business saw Trevoh Chalobah return to Stamford Bridge after a successful stint at Crystal Palace.

However, Chelsea are continuing to be heavily linked with a move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho while Christopher Nkunku is being tipped to move in the opposite direction. Ahead of another busy weekend, football.london has taken a closer look at some of the current headlines circulating around the club.

Nkunku price tag set

According to Sky Sports, United are showing a clear interest in Nkunku this winter as they look to solve their striker problems. Sensing perhaps some desperation, the Blues are believed to have placed a £70m price tag on the Frenchman.

Nkunku still has four-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge. He was purchased from RB Leipzig for £52m.

What FL says: Such a high valuation for a player who has struggled to settle at Chelsea so far looks to point to two different theories. Firstly, that Chelsea do not want to sell Nkunku and secondly, they sense that United are desperate to get a deal done. It would be shocking, considering the Reds' current financial situation that they would pay that much for a striker in January. Unless they sell Garnacho or Rashford for good money. Currently, it seems impossible that Enzo Maresca's men could command that fee for Nkunku which may be a deliberate ploy.

Potter refuses to help Chelsea

According to The Guardian, former manager Graham Potter, who has now taken up the role at West Ham, has no interest in signing Axel Disasi on loan this winter. Maresca is understood to be keen for the centre-back to leave Stamford Bridge but it looks likely that the London Stadium is not his final destination.

What FL says: Considering the way it ended for Potter at Chelsea, it is perhaps unsurprising that he is reluctant to give his former employer a helping hand. The Blues should not feel disheartened though as you can imagine there will be a number of eligible clubs wanting his services and with game time limited under Maresca, you'd think the 26-year-old would jump at the chance to show what he can do elsewhere.
