Chelsea can sign their own Erling Haaland as talks revealed over £84.5m transfer
Chelsea are in talks behind the scenes over potentially completing a deal to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, football.london understands.
The Blues are keen to sign a new left winger this month, with Gittens high on the list of potential signings alongside Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.
While both of them have been identified as targets, it is uncertain whether any movement will be made this month or in the summer transfer window.

Gittens actually spent part of his youth career in west London before moving to Reading and then Manchester City before finally ending up at Dortmund in 2020. Now, five years on, he is valued at €100million (£84.5million).
Former Germany striker Karl Heinz-Riedle has openly admitted Gittens can become as good as Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland were in the Bundesliga. as reported by The Sun, he said: "He can become the next Sancho, Haaland or Bellingham.
"He is very quick, very good in a one-against-one situation and with the ability to finish as well. I see a young player who has the full package, plus he is someone who I see working on how to make himself better."
Intent on following in the footsteps of Sancho and Bellingham, the 20-year-old is now an established starter for the Bundesliga giants after finding himself in and out of the team last campaign. Gittens is currently flourishing under Nuri Sahin and it will not be long until he gets a big-money move elsewhere.
Gittens could be a perfect signing for Enzo Maresca in the January transfer window, but it could also be that the Blues wait until the summer to firm up their interest in the youngster. The 20-year-old has 11 goals and five assists in 26 matches for Dortmund this season, which has led to the increased interest in him from the Premier League.
