Liverpool will be aiming to claim the first of a possible quadruple when they take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. With Jürgen Klopp departing at the end of the season, the players will have an added incentive going into the match.

For Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to win his first trophy in English football and kickstart his reign at Stamford Bridge with silverware.

The match is a repeat of the 2022 final which ended 0-0 after extra time before Liverpool won 11-10 on penalties.

Liverpool will be without Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones who have both been ruled out after picking up knee and ankle injuries during their side’s 4-1 victory at Brentford on Saturday.

Jota and Jones’ set-backs rapidly follow the loss of Trent Alexander-Arnold, also with a knee problem, and goalkeeper Alisson who suffered a muscle injury in training.

Liverpool are also desperate for a positive bulletin on the fitness of midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who has a hamstring problem, while Darwin Núñez also presented cause for concern before being subbed as a precaution on Saturday after complaining of muscle pain.

Thiago Silva is a potential injury doubt for Chelsea after he hobbled off with a groin injury in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on February 12.
