Chelsea made just one signing throughout the January transfer window with Mathis Amougou arriving from Saint-Etienne.

The deal itself has not even been confirmed by the Blues or the French club as of yet but football.london understands there is nothing to be worried about on that front. Chelsea agreed a deal - understood to be in the region of £12million - with Les Verts on transfer deadline day, with the 19-year-old midfielder expected to move immediately to Stamford Bridge.

That, however, was it in terms of incomings in SW6 - bar a few players being recalled from their loan spells for various different reasons. The club, though, did manage to offload 15 players in total over the course of the window; with there being a mixture of academy lads and first-team figures leaving west London.

Nine players left the Blues on loan deals - and that will rise to 10 when Joao Felix's move to AC Milan is confirmed. The 25-year-old Portuguese attacker agreed a loan move to the San Siro on deadline day, football.london understands, with the Rossoneri expected to pay Chelsea around £4.5million for his services, while covering all of his salary. There is no buy option in Felix's contract with the former Atletico Madrid man expected to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Chelsea received a similar sum for Axel Disasi's loan move to Aston Villa. The Midlands club paid the Blues £5million for the Frenchman's services until the end of the season. Renato Veiga's loan move to Juventus last week saw the Italian outfit cough up £3.8million for the Portugal international; with Chelsea receiving nearly £15m for three of their fringe players to leave the club on temporary deals.

The fees just from those players alone cover what the club are paying Saint-Etienne for Amougou. Cesare Casadei's move to Torino last week saw Chelsea receive a £12.5million fee from the Italian club for the midfielder's services on a permanent contract.

There was also a fee for Carney Chukwuemeka to move on loan to Borussia Dortmund, sources have told football.london, although the figure remains undisclosed at this time. The 21-year-old will be at Signal Iduna Park until June, with BVB having a buy option in the contract that is said to be higher than his £40million release clause. Dortmund will cover Chukwuemeka's salary during his time in Germany.

The west Londoners have also managed to get Ben Chilwell off their books with Crystal Palace paying a hefty chunk of the 28-year-old's wages over a six-month loan deal at Selhurst Park. All in all, Disasi, Chukwuemeka, Casadei, Chilwell, Veiga and Felix's imminent move to Milan means Chelsea offloaded six senior figures over the course of the January transfer window.

Elsewhere, Alex Matos, Max Merrick, Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Zak Sturge and Caleb Wiley all sealed loan moves. Travis Akomeah, Somto Bonifcace, Reiss Russell-Denny, Zain Silcott-Duberry and Harvey Vale have all left the west London club on permanent contracts.
