Cheltenham Festival 2025 tips and full race card for Tuesday

The wait is finally over as the 2025 Cheltenham Festival gets going this afternoon with seven races at the world-famous Prestbury Park.

The feature race of Day One is the Champion Hurdle as Constitution Hill bids to regain his title after missing last year’s race. The defending champion State Man is back for another crack, but the leading challenger appears to be Gordon Elliott’s star mare Brighterdaysahead.

The first race is the Michael O'Sullivan Supreme Novices' Hurdle, named in memory of the leading Irish jockey, who tragically died falling a fall at Thurles last month.

Favourite backers will be hoping Kopek Des Bordes can get them off to a good start with Majborough also set to be a short-priced favourite for the Arkle.

The decision to send Lossiemouth to the Mares’ Hurdle rather than to the Champion Hurdle may not have gone down well with the racing public, but Willie Mullins won’t care if she gets the job done in the fourth race.
