The first day of the Cheltenham Festival 2025 is upon us with seven exciting races to look forward to this Tuesday, including flagship content the Unibet Champion Hurdle.

On aptly-named Champion Day, the first set of races at the Festival will see 95 horses take to Cheltenham Racecourse in front of tens of thousands of excited punters. This kickstarts with the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at 1:20pm - the first of four Grade 1 events on offer.

This is followed by the Arkle Novices' Chase, Handicap Chase and the Mares' Hurdle before the biggest of the day follows at 4:00pm, the Champion Hurdle. Seven runners and riders have been confirmed for that one worth £450,000 to the winner, with Willie Mullins-trained State Man back to defend his crown but facing strong opposition in Constitution Hill and Brighterdaysahead.
