Chris Davies is intent on delivering for those who follow Birmingham City after years of 'suffering', this season - as he confirmed Knighthead Capital's 'exciting plan' for the club in the years to come.

Blues are flying at the top of League One and have also reached the Vertu Trophy final at Wembley in April. It has all the makings of a memorable season - and potentially a record-breaking one.

Davies, in his first ever managerial gig having taken the job upon leaving Tottenham Hotspur where he worked under Ange Postecoglou until last summer, has overseen an excellent job to date having worked with Blues to overhaul the squad over the course of the transfer window.

Having seen first hand the changes implemented by Knighthead, who have invested millions and are committed to funding billions more in the years to come as the Sports Quarter takes shape, Davies believes Bluenoses have every reason to be excited heading into the future - and he's committed to delivering good times in the short-term.

"Some supporters here have been through a lot of suffering. For them to see the team playing, winning, dominating games, has been welcome from where the club has been at," Davies told Sky Sports. "They've really enjoyed it, but for me it's important that they identify with the team on the pitch - win, draw or lose.

"You must work hard and represent them, and their club. One of the big attractions for me when coming to the club was the ambition, but also the investment behind it and having a clear plan on how to get there.

"The first job was getting out of League One and we haven't done that yet, so we have to work hard to achieve that first goal. There are, though, exciting plans in place. Everybody knows it's a big club and where the owners want to take it. It's an exciting time to be here."
